Westmoreland Sheriff to revive Auxiliary :: 01/23/2014
"A defunct sheriff's department auxiliary team will be reinvented to provide community service and educational programs, Westmoreland County Sheriff Jonathan Held said Wednesday.
The old auxiliary group, which worked community events, was dissolved shortly after Held took office in 2012 amid allegations that some volunteers misused their status, such as flashing reserve-unit badges to get discounts at restaurants.
Held said it is time to reinvent the auxiliary."
