Texas Self-Defense: Texas Homeowner Shoots, Kills Armed Intruder :: 12/29/2015
COLLEGE STATION (December 28, 2015) College Station police say the shooting death of an armed intruder at an apartment complex appears to be a case of self-defense.
Officers were sent to the complex Sunday night where a 28-year-old Bryan man was found unconscious with a bullet wound to his abdomen.
Police say Zebulun Jarell Ransom was taken to a hospital where he died.
A man living in the apartment told officers Ransom was armed and tried to barge his way through a door.
The resident also had a gun, fired a shot at the intruder and then called police.
College Station police say the resident, whose name has not been released, is cooperating with their investigation.
Police Sgt. Steven Taylor says both weapons have been recovered.
