Pennsylvania State Police academy cheating probe ensnares 29 cadets :: 02/25/2016

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said 29 cadets have left its academy in connection with an investigation into possible cheating. State Police Commissioner Tyree Blocker revealed the departures Wednesday during a legislative hearing in Harrisburg.

Blocker has given few details about the investigation, including what kind of cheating was suspected since disclosing the investigation Feb. 4. Cadets, however, are subject to a battery of written tests during the nearly seven months of training.

Blocker has said a "full and comprehensive" investigation by the internal affairs unit began in December and involved dozens of interviews and an extensive collection of evidence. Blocker has suggested that anyone caught will be punished severely.
