Olive Garden Allegedly Refuses to Serve Police Officer for Carrying Weapon :: 10/13/2015
(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) — An Olive Garden in Kansas City reportedly turned away a police officer because he was carrying a gun.

According to ABC News affiliate KMBC-TV, Officer Michael Holsworth was dressed in a full police uniform for a birthday lunch with his family when an employee reportedly told him no guns were allowed inside the restaurant.
Holsworth said wearing a full police uniform requires him to carry a weapon.
“I had hoped to simply enjoy an uninterrupted birthday meal with my family. I never believed I would be asked to leave a public restaurant because I was in full police uniform which requires me to carry my duty weapon,” Holsworth said, according to KMBC-TV.
Holsworth told his version of the story on Facebook. The post was shared over 4,000 times as of Sunday night.
The restaurant was investigating what happened but said the incident was “highly inconsistent” with how they normally do business, according to KMBC-TV.
