Georgia Self-Defense: Armed Albany citizen runs crooks off :: 05/10/2016
ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany man told Police that he woke up about 4:50 Monday morning to the sound of someone trying to break a car window, and got his gun to investigate.
He saw that a man was trying to break his neighbor's car window, on Summit Drive, and walked toward him.
He said a man, who who figured was the burglar's accomplice, came out of the shadows, and pointed a weapon at him.
The citizen said he fired a shot at the other man-- in self-defense.
Both the burglar and the lookout took off running. It is not known if the bullet struck anyone.
The Criminal Investigations Bureau of APD is looking for whoever tried to break into the car.
