Arkansas Self-Defense: Armed robber shot by Jacksonville store clerk :: 02/27/2019
JACKSONVILLE, ARK. (KATV) - A man was taken to the hospital after he was shot while robbing a store in Jacksonville on Thursday.
Police say they were called out to the 1500 block of West Main Street just before 11:30 p.m. in regards to an armed robbery and gunshot victim.
The store clerk told officers a black male entered the store sometime after 11 p.m. and placed a black and silver handgun on the counter, demanding all of the money.
At some point during the robbery the clerk retrieved a gun from behind the counter and fired a shot toward the robber, according to the report.
Officials say the suspect was hit and transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.
An investigation is ongoing.
