Alabama Self-Defense: Homeowner fires shot in attempted burglary :: 11/18/2016
BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham police are investigating an attempted burglary where the homeowner fired a shot at the suspect.
Someone tried to break into a house on 4th Avenue North and Center Street around 2:30 a.m.
The homeowner told officers that they fired a shot at the suspect who got away.
A short time later, police responded to reports of a person shot in the stomach on 3rd Avenue West—about a block away from the attempted break-in.
Police have not confirmed whether or not the person shot is connected to the burglary attempt.
